Conduit Magazine Thursday 24th April at 6.15pm for 7.00pm. Dorset photographer and military historian Kit Constable Maxwell will be giving an illustrated talk on ‘Sun, Sand and Survival in the Sahara’ in the Digby Hall, Hound Street, Sherborne. Kit has had a lifelong interest in desert travel. and has driven his own Land Rover across Libya, Algeria, Morocco, Tunis, Tibet, Nepal and India. Recently he travelled into the Sahara to explore the Touareg homelands in the Hoggar Mountains. This talk will show slides of some of the most remote and inaccessible parts of our planet. His slide sequence shows unseen pictures of desert landscapes and rock art. The fast moving show is accompanied by music and commentary.

Kit presented a talk in April 2013 to the Dorset Land Rover Club "My Life on Wheels, the Land Rover way" The story recalls the 15 Land Rovers Kit has owned over the last 65 years, and all the world-wide travels he has done in them Review by Andy Wilson, Editor 'Dorset Rover' "... being an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society, it was no surprise that Kit's images were brilliant, and as a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Kit was able to speak with authority, knowledge and experience about some far-flung destinations." "Kit's words and pictures were inspiring, interesting, educative and thoroughly enjoyable. What also came across was his empathy with the people that he met and photographed on his travels, but more than anything else, my abiding memory was Kit's sheer zest for travel, challenge and life in general". *************** Kit's recent 'Desert Talk in Dorset' was held in November last year It was a grand success with over 100 guests. Thank you for all your enthusiastic reponses. It was a multi-media talk with slides, music and commentary about one of the great raids of the Long Range Desert Group in 1941.
